| What's New | ML Restorations On Site ServicesML Restorations has developed two methods for restoring Front Doors. Both methods are equally effective for the high quality you can expect from every project ML Restorations performs. Stripping: If the on your Front Door has started to crystallize and has exposed wood without a protective coating on it, then the door must be taken down and stripped. We remove the door, place plastic over the threshold cased opening, and then we place your door on sawhorses. We then apply a specially formulated stripper (which will not harm the wood), and begin to remove the remaining finish and stain. This procedure takes approximately two hours and the door is now down to bare wood. The technician then re-hangs the door and allows the wood to dry over night. The following day the door is sanded, stained, and the first coat of Spar Urethane is applied. The final procedure is to buff the door with steel wool and then apply the last coat of Urethane. Colored Urethane: If you Front Door is faded in color, but the protective coating has not been damaged, then our technician will sand your door (in place) and start too air brush tinted Urethane to match the inside of your door. The door is then allowed to dry. The final procedure is too buff the door with steel wool and apply a clear protective coat of Spar Urethane. ML Restorations Savings Analysis: Door Size (3.0' x 6.8')
